What’s happening in Tallahassee?

Did you know that YOUR advocacy efforts help to create policy changes?

Your phone calls, e-mails, and even visits to your elected officials effect change for not only your children, but ALL children. This is the foundation of Advocacy.

The time to advocate is throughout the year ideally, but as the legislative session is upon us there is much to do NOW. To best way get started is to get informed. We had 5 DCC PTA members in Tallahassee last week for Florida PTA’s Legislative Conference and have brought home valuable information.

**Remember that PTA is nonpartisan and works to direct its efforts at members of all political parties in order to enact change. When PTA officers or lobbyists participate in legislative activities that educate lawmakers about officially adopted PTA positions or support a particular piece of legislation that is in agreement with the PTA Legislative Program, it is done on a strictly nonpartisan basis.
